Schlitz began canning its famous Malt Liquor around 1960.
Shortly after 1970 the cans featured the famous Schlitz
Malt Liquor bull. With the red beer fad of a couple of
years ago Stroh’s, the new owner of the Schlitz line,
introduced its Red Bull beer. The first can shown here
is a Red Bull exported to far east. This Red Bull is pegged
at 7.1 per cent alcohol by volume. Stroh also used the famous
bull brand to sell other high potency brews overseas.
The other colored bull cans are the Silver Bull at 5.5%,
the Gold Bull at 5.9%,
the Blue Bull at 7.7% and the ultimate Black Bull at 10%.
